Swastika boys shoe medal found.

I found this medal in back of an old house in town. The front has a large swastika along with a smaller horseshoe, wishbone, four leaf clover, and another item I can't identify.
The front says, "Good Luck" "Manufactured by the Excelsior Shoe Co. Portsmouth.O"
The Back shows a boy on a horse and says, "The Excelsior " "Medal" "Shoe for Boys" "July 1910"
The swastika is an old, old symbol. I have seen it on ancient Indian pottery. The New Mexico State University year book used to be called "The Swastika"
Of course the Nazi's changed the meaning of the swastika. I don't think a modern shoe co. would put it on a medal for boys.

That's a nice find, those old tokens are cool to recover. I believe the swastika was another symbol of "Good Luck", like the other symbols on that side of the token.......A way to tell the difference between a Good Luck swastika and Nazi swastika, is the placement of the symbol. The Nazi swastika is rotated 45 degrees.

Cool find, I have found three different ones, the excelsior ones are fairly common, must have made a ton of them, there is a great website I found awhile back that has all the swastika tokens on it, there are hundreds of different ones

Note the "legs" of the swastika are pointing in different direction....nge
