Was wondering if you would buy a 8x6 S.E.F. coil if kellyco sold them. I called kellco and ask them if they could order them and they told me that they would need a big order. So i told them i would buy 2 from them, 1 for each of my Sov's What do you think ?

GS the 8x6 is a great coil good on trashy beaches and fields i have 1 on my older GT goes deep to like the 12x10 only problem is getting one fortunately i have family in England who got me one and shipped it over the pond . I tyred Kellyco also got the same message ,sometimes i see them on the auction sites . GL Jim

deepdigger..... how do they match up with the other 8" ones available? I guess a lot would depend on price. If they were reasonable..... im talking more than the 10X12 id sure buy one, but i wouldnt want to wait for 6 mos either. Ive always liked these coils.

Dew iam sold on the SEF coils i find the 8x6 has a small edge on the stock 8 inch in depth plus the pin point is right on ,years ago i got a 12x10 sef for my DFX and was blown away by the depth of small targets it found in the fields it,s to bad they are so hard to get here they would still sell well for the Sov.GT,s . I didnt use one on a Sov yet but used it on my Explorers and Etrac and prefer the X8. I tried two of them. I do like the 10X12s though on both series of detectors(Sov and Explorer), great coils.

On my Explorer and the E-Trac I had a 8X6 and found I like the X8 of Sun Rays much better, but as we know some of these coil work good on one type of detector and not on another type like the Joey coil as it was great on the Explorer, but didn't like it on the Sovereigns. The 8X6 on the FBS detectors wasn't my favorite and found the X8 worked much better for me, but maybe on the Sovereign a 8X6 may work great and don't know because I never tried one and would have to see some great feedback before I would get one.

I think that would be the issue..... not enought of them around to know their ability and most of us that used the 10X12 might make a purchase based on their ability. Like you said Neil.... for me on a beach here in Fl with not as much minerals most of those coils would stack up pretty equally id think depth wise. BUT.... how about sensitivity?

I agree with Rick, would be nice to see how well this coil would work for the Sovereign.Maybe some one can find a field report from a user. Thanks Ron
