We get into the start of Fall and into Winter and some areas, such as in the SE USA, are now a little more huntable with fewer bugs and less hot and humid weather. At the same time, many people in the NE and N. Central states are often dealing with, or preparing for, wetter and colder weather that's on the way. The W. Coast is often due for ample wet weather starting soon, especially in Oregon and Washington, while more inland area, such as where I live in Oregon, and down trough the rest of the high desert/great basin area and into the lower W. coast and SW regions, will more often than not have more or less pleasant weather, not as well, but areas will start getting colder soon.
Some folks mainly get out detecting in the summer months. Some people might get interested in rumors or reports of new and creative detectors on the horizon and might flock to those Forums and leave reliable Forums, such as this, a little quiet ... at least for a while. Then, too, we can't ignore the fact that many of us who enjoy outdoor recreation like metal detecting, also enjoy hunting season and that time of the year has been upon us for a month-and-a-half now. I am spending time this morning getting the detecting gear, rifles, shotgun, handguns, cooking gear and other camping and hunting needs loaded in my hunting rig. I'll be headed off for perhaps a week-or-two for deer hunting, bird hunting, trying to thing the coyote herds, and also keeping a watch for some sites to fit in a little detecting.
This is a very cyclic hobby, just like hunting or fishing, skiing, boating, etc., in that we tend to have 'seasons' which can vary by time of the year or location. I am sure we are going to see more Forum activity on this and other popular brand forums in the near future. I might even start to shop for a good but handy camera so I can get photos of finds and sites to add to posts. I know many only read the forums, and some often won't post unless they have a photo or two to flavor their story.
