Surprising school finds

I went to a local Eau Claire, WI school sunday morning expecting to find the usual clad and junk. All I found was 3 cents and the following things, but they are pretty cool.

The first item pictured with the dime is a medal that says "Honorable Service - Fort Harrison" All I could find on Ft. Harrison on the web was that it was a Civil War fort for the confeds. I couldn't find when it closed. It's bent but still sort of cool.

The heart shaped item is what I thought was a dog tag, but when I cleaned it up at home, it says "If injured or unconscious telegraph the number to the MPA" It is stamped with a number.

The back says Massachusetts Protective Association Inc. - health and accident insurance.

I could not find anything on the web about the company. I assume it was swallowed up by a competitor many decades ago.

The last item is a womens face powder tin. The internet says that this brand was popular in the teens to twenties. It's in rough shape, but still cool. I found a couple of these at this site.

There was also an Army base near Indianapolis named Fort Harrison. I believe it is closed now. I was open for a great many years. Nice finds!!

Fantastic Finds :clapping: . There is a Fort Benjamin Harrison on
the NE side of Indianapolis IN

Just by judging by the look of the soldier in the medal, I think it is from the Ft. Harrison that existed in Virginia, which was a Confed. fort. He looks like a miltia man. I could be wrong. Maybe there is a history buff out there who could shed some light on this. :)

Those are really some interesting peices of memorabilia. You never know what you will dig up. Congratulations.
