I am thinking about selling my CZ 70 Pro in order to get a White's MXT or something. Someone talk me out of it or give me a reason to keep it. I think I am just used to White's.

You won't get a lot of argument from me. I came from the White's crowd but found out I really liked the Fishers. I am thinking about selling my last Whites, a sweet Eagle SL II. It still works great, I still like it, but I have a hard time switching between Whites and Fisher. I think Whites will come on stronger in a year or two after
the Vision technology trickles down. I hadn't purchased a detector since I bought my Eagle in '92. Since I got my CZ3, I have purchased two other new Fishers.
If you give the newer Fishers a try, you probably won't want a Whites right now. I understand about being used to something, but I guess I am used to Fisher now and my Whites seems foreign to me. Either of the detectors will do a good job for you.

How long have you been using your CZ 70? Being comfortable with what you are using is a big part of success. A friend of mine used a White's 6000 Di Pro SL for YEARS. I was using an Explorer XS. He did very well with his 6000 due to his expertise with it. There were things he would miss that I could find following behind him, mostly deeper stuff or coins adjacent to rusty iron. But he could cover a lot more ground than I because of the sweep speed differences between the two detectors.

Whatever you decide on, make sure you get out and go detecting. If a detector is a headache to use and prevents you from going, find something you like. If you can borrow from a friend that uses something that interests you, give it a go. Or if a local dealer will let you have a test drive with one of his demo's, try that.

Good luck with whatever you decide.

I've got Fisher, Tesoro and Whites. Like them all in their own way. They all have different personalities; different strengths and weaknesses. Where I'm hunting and what my frame of mind is kind of determines which detector I grab. Found my first nice ring with a CZ and have mostly figured out how it says iron, so I guess I have a comfort level developed. CZ's are pretty consistently deep in nearly every soil condition; but you can't rush them too much.

I like having multiple options to hunt with. It takes time with any detector to get comfortable with it. If you have gone through 3 or 4 sets of batteries and aren't starting to feeling comfortable, then I think you are reaching a decision point. If you haven't given it 3 to 4 sets of batteries worth of time, then I think you might want to step back and think about how to approach a new to you detector.

Just my 2 cents.

Just new on here!!. I have had my cz5 since new, over 12 yrs ago, and have also bought a second one. I have over 200 rings, 2 glass gallons of pennies, 2 cofee cans full of quarters dimes nickles, and everything from barber dimes, to silver dollars. I think this detector is one of the esiest ones to learn, put yours in the coin mode, and you will find rings too.Yesterday i found a 1917 ww1 badge in the city park. I am competing with my friends minelab, and his is very foriegn to me. The fisher cz's are as simple as they come. pinpointing is far more esier, faster, and I usually find 20 more coins a day than the others I go out with.. Have fun, ck it out more, and enjoy the cz

For 8 years hunted with an XLT guru and of course used a CZ one model or the other..At the end of the season our silver count was pretty close...Heck he could move faster and cover more ground with better ID and I got better depth and more older coins but silver is silver and of course was a guru of sorts myself using CZ's since 92.
All in all some like blue fords and some like red chevies so use what is comfortable to you....No argument from this poster as both Whites and Fishers build excellent units.

Hey, gotta use what's the most fun for you. Adios!

Never used a White's, hunted with many who did. Seems to me if I had a faint, deep good target, say dime or cent in the 9+ inch range, there was always at least one good White's user who could also id the target. Seemed the variance in a signal from a target that was at an angle, say a very tilted coin, gave both of us the "iffies". Seems a bent, burnt nail at the right depth might always read high coin, but would pinpoint with a clear offset from the apparent target location for both users of White's and CZ's.

Prior to the DD coil upgrade, it seemed to me I had an edge in id'ing and getting those co-located targets at depth, the ones that were nearly masked. Since the CZ's do not have the edge on coil innovation now, and no such animal is apparently forthcoming there may be some advantage to the White's over the CZ's.

That said, I'm still a CZ user and have no problem continuing to be one.

Boy do I wish a DD coil or some other variant/aftermarket coils would be made for the CZ's. I guess at this point I have to stick with the 4 options I have now.
