at the giving park with Banditicey yesterday and managed a few more wheats, bringing my total to over 55 from this park this year, also a couple of IH's . the surprise of the day was a V-nickel encased in tar? took a while to work it off but it was an 1896. and pretty shiny. looks like I am taking the next few weeks off while the E-trac goes in for some testing( having sensitivity issues)

Great finds !!! How did you clean it ???

the tar was very hard so chipped off rather easy, Eva helped with a fingernail at first so we could see the front. I scrubbed with a tooth brush and some gun cleaner(all I had) . it was pretty bright so I hit it with an sos pad and it looks great. the only tarnish(oxidation) spot is on one edge, I left that...did't want to scrub to much.

That's what it takes. A gal not afraid to get her fingernails dirty or worried about breakin' one!

The coin looks good to me!
