Surprise from Kellyco, Vaquero today :)

I ordered the Vaquero later on in the day on Thursday 12/11. I had spoken to Chris the same gentleman at Kellyco who I ordered my headphones from a few weeks back. He indicated that the machine would likely show up Monday or Tuesday of next week. When I got my email sales order it indicated a Tuesday delivery, which considering it's Christmas time is pretty good. Attached to the email was of course the package tracker which I tried and sure enough it said 12/16/2014. Anyway late last night I was closing out emails and just for grins hit the tracker again. My package was on the way much sooner. By this AM it had been placed on a truck for delivery today. Sure enough this afternoon it arrived, at least the box of the right dimensions from Kellyco is here. It's light enough to have a Tesoro inside. So at the moment it's parked unopened in my office. It will stay that way until tomorrow when I can video the unveiling properly. No fake cutting of the tape here, we will do it on video to preserve the joy in real time. I'll have to use a special blade for the occasion. Looking forward to tomorrow, hmmm this is how Christmas felt when I was 12. :)

JMC, you have more patience than I do, that thing would have been out of the box with a fresh battery in it testing it out if it was at my house. I hope you enjoy the machine and the moment as well. The Vaquero was the first Tesoro I bought and learned on. It's a great machine.

When I first got (opened) my Vaquero my heart sank!!! I just left it in the box laying on the floor for DAYS, I saw that tiny little control housing and thought to myself "this can't be a real detector, it can't really work and I've blown all that money" I was depressed, upset, and heartbroken :nopity:
After a few days and it still laying in the floor I decided that it was mine good or bad, working or not I needed to see what it would do if I put a battery in it and turned it on. That took a lot of nerve for me, the unknown was almost better than the expected severe disappointment I faced by putting a battery in that almost metal detector :look:
So, the day came when I took it out of the box and put in the almost bigger than the detector battery, a deep breath and I turned it on and it actually made a noisy  But I still had to face the likelihood that that was about all it was going to do, then another deep breath and I passed a US quarter in front of the coil and it sounded off with a really nice tone :clapping: Then I moved the quarter out to like 4" and waved it in front of the coil again and I was even more surprised that it sounded off with as good of a report that it did at 2" :wiggle:
Along in here I kind-a lost that sick feeling and my curiosity kicked in a little, I had a little glimmer of hope!! I thought, "what if this tiny little thing is real?, what If it really does work?". Then I took it outside for a spin around the yard and realized that it in fact was REAL, then the air cleared, my depression lifted, my sense of hopelessness left and the whole world became a better place.
This is a true story!
For some reason when I bought that Vaquero (never seeing one before) I thought I was getting a at lest full size detector, when I saw that tiny little toy on a stick I just fell apart, at one point I had to move it out of sight because I felt so bad about spending that much money for a kids toy! I guess that I had created some BIG deal for the Vaquero that the tiny package and its weightlessness signaled something very negative in me, Just to find out that the tiny little Vaquero really did pack a lot of punch in that little package.
The Vaquero really is a great detector and it should serve you very well.
Best of luck to you and your Vaquero!
