...thanks for all the prayers and well wishes!! I'm writing this on 1 hours sleep so please excuse my mistakes.
Brian's ENT doc called and asked me what Brian's vitals were and when I told him his heart rate was 142 he said to get him to Children's in Knoxville ASAP. It turned out his blood levels were very low, near critical stage, so they had to give him a unit of blood. After recieving the blood he started to perk up a bit and regain his normal color. They decided to airlift him because they were afraid the area where he was bleeding might blow out causing an extreme loss of blood.
Brian loved the ride in the LifeStar helicopter from Knoxville to Nashville. The flight got delayed because of fog so my dad and I were able to beat it to Vandy and be there when he arrived.
Carol wasn't allowed to ride with Brian so after the chopper took off she rode with my sister, Jenny, and my mom and they got to Vandy about 3 hours later.
The surgery in the morning is exploratory with a camera tube inserted through his mouth. If they can locate the bleeding they can cotterise it to stop the flow of blood. This would be the best scenario. If they can't find it our guess is they will move up the tumor reduction surgery to relieve the pressure of the blood vessels.
Mike from Mi called...thanks Mike for the call and your encouragement and prayers. Good luck with your hunt...can't wait to see your finds!!
At the time Mike called I didn't have internet access because in my rush to leave I forgot my ethernet cable and mouse. The touchpad drives me crazy. A nurse let me borrow a cable so I'm able to get on-line.
Thank you Betty for the wonderful prayer you PM'd me...you are an angel of the Lord for sure!!
Check out the size of this dog that was brought in to visit the kids here at Vanderbilt!! It put a big smile on Brian's face.
