Surfs UP - CA Beach Finds :detecting:

Met up with a friend for a little CA beach hunting action. We couldn't have asked for better weather (in sharp contract to last Thursday). I made a few finds, and learned some valuable lessons as well (like don't tell one of the old timers that you just came from a coin pocket so he can go and find a nice BIG diamond ring at it after you just left :ranting: :rage:

I didn't load up on gold, but did manage to get one of those gold Mexican name rings with "Maria" carved in the top. It's not marked, but it tested positive at 14K, and weighs in at a little over five grams :bouncy:

Also got a black silver earring, a nitro loaded earring that was once silver plated, and a dateless green crusty wheatie. All in all it was a good hunt for a turf dweller, but lots to learn, surf hunting is an entirely different ballgame then turf hunting.

Without further ado, here's the loot:

Great job Brian! I was out today myself. I found 50 coins in 4 hours but had to get home before the full low tide and found no gold or silver  Those coins you found look like they have been there a while- none of my coins had that nice green crust on them. Congrats on the gold!

Like Goldak says, the green crust on those coins shows they have been there for some time, maybe your the only hunter on that Beach.

Fine ring there Brian,

Looks like a typical hunt otherwise with lots of targets hauled away.

Keep up the good work and post your finds so us ice-bound water hunters can live vicariously!!

BTW, what machine and coil are you sporting?

Do you have a preferred scoop?

Do you use a sifter?

Waders?

Wet/Dry suit?

Regards to a Fellow Hunter,

CJ
