Surfmaster PI (3 types), Detector Pro Pirate Pro or Cibola

New to this but I have done some Civil War relic hunting on land with a friend's metal detector. I live bayfront so would like to start hunting on the sandy beach plus at low tide, but have access to two relatives' home sites where I found the relics. One property is riverfront where the cliffs are eroding so may investigate the water there, too, besides the land.
Would like to know which of the above metal detectors (or suggest another, please, and thank you) is best for both land (primarily) and water? Best for gold lost on the beach? Any suggestions greatly appreciated. I know the Surfmaster PI Dual Field is capable of greater depths, but is it worth the extra money over the previous Surfmaster models?
I guess I want it all, eh, who doesn't?
Thank you.

Well, first of all, unless you buy a White's TDI or Garrett Infinium, don't even think about using a PI machine to hunt relics. If you want to hunt dry and wet sand and occasionally relics then look for something that has ground balancing and discrimination. If you are wading, hunting wet sand, or in the water (salt) then a PI is the way to go. I would recommend that you decide what kind of hunting you want to do (surf or relic) and then spend some time researching what machines fits both the type of hunting you're gonna be doing and also your budget. Amen to Horsesoldier's response. A friend once asked me what type of whites machine to get for FRESH water, and I told him to make sure his machine was a VLF. He goes and buys a pulse-induction machine. He hated it, until he took it to the salt beaches. PI units are super-sensitive, and will drive you crazy in freshwater, but they work well in salt. Just my 2 cents........

Great video, ready to hit the fields / streams / bay.
Thank you for taking the time and the information is most valuable in helping me make my decision. Interesting PI facts!
