Surf PI

Hello I need some serious help. I have had this machine for app. 2 yrs now and every time I use it I get disgusted with all the digging for bobby pins and tiny pieces of junk. I have purchased Pulse power Finding Gold At The Shore By Clive Clynic and read and re read it nothing is helping. I want to learn this machine but not having any luck all help will surely be appreciated settings sounds etc.

Get yourself a water proof pinpointer, and a big sand scoop and dig it all. It takes me on average a minute a target. You have to dig the iron because it may be a pocket knife or other valuable.

I bought a stealth 08 sand scoop off ebay and I tell you it makes it almost effortless. Best 200$ shovel I have ever used, actually only 200$ shovel I have ever used. Well worth it.

In dry course sand by the time I lift the scoop up I can see the target. If it comes out of the hole and passes through the scoop I use the pinpointer to locate.

It has been slow going for me as well - you will have to keep at it and start out slow when you find a target. When you find a target, pass over it a few times, get "Zen" and listen to the tone - do not dig it right away, just learn the tone as you move around it, for me this was the only way. I have also given up on the "Fist 10 feet from the shore..." I now put on the mask, snorkel, booties and lead weight belt. I will walk out to the water is up to the top of my head and then do the breath holding thing as I sink to the bottom and sweep. I purchased a dive shaft as well. I have found my most valuable stuff this way. If I get closer to the shore it is only bobby pins, pull tabs and kids change. The more gold & silver stuff is worn by the people that can go a little deeper. I have also put on the scuba gear and gone to places where the high school kids like to jump in from high places - not really too much there either but one "Z" earing with a sterling backing - oh and again, ton of pocket change.
As for gold - when you do find it, you will never forget the sudden tone and then it suddenly drops out as you pass over it. Very short and strong signal.

I am actually doing some research on the Dual Field PI Pro. I am not sure I want it, because I have read about "pinpointing problems" from many, and also due to the
fact that White's has attached a buoyant coil on the DF. I only hunt under water, not wet beach, with my regular PI pro, so I don't think a buoyant coil would be fun to use. I really don't want to have to weigh down the coil so it stops floating. The older PI had a zero-buoyancy coil, thus it does not float. I am interested in the extra depth that the DF could offer however. What are your experiences with either of these issues I have mentioned? Btw, bobby pins and bottlecaps cannot be helped due to the nature of pulse units - deep targets and gold that others missed are what the goal is, we put up with the crap for the great depth that pi's offer. Sorry, but this is life with PI units, there is no escaping this pitfall, at least currently.
