Surf PI Pro vs Beachhunter ID

I have a Surf PI Pro that I've used for about 2 years, give or take. Recently I've been considering replaceing it with a Beachhunter PI. I don't hunt any deeper that waist deep and up to wet sand high tide area, so I do not need the depth rating the PI Pro gets. I also do some fresh water detecting at times. The PI PRO does a fantastic job, but as we know it also finds the trash. Since I hunt in the shallows and sometime in fresh water (where more trash resides) I'd like to ask those that have compaired the two, would there be a big enough advantage to the Beachhunter(trash rejection)over the PI Pro for my circumstances to make the change? TIA

I HUNT WET SAND AND WATER OUT TO NECK DEEP..IN SALT AND FRESH WATER. I LOVE THIS DETECTOR!! I THINK THE PI PRO IS A SUPER DETECTOR TOO!!! IF I ONLY HUNTED IN SALT WATER IT WOULD BE MY DETECTOR OF CHOICE FOR MOST HUNTS. GOOD LUCK!! HH!!

Thanks BH! I was hoping you would reply. I posted on Friendly too. I may go ahead and do the replacement.

Consider this: PI Pro gets extreme depth with loss of discrimination. Watertight but you dig EVERYTHING. BeachHunter ID has discrimination with minor depth loss but battery door has issues with the hinges. I've ownded them both and have been using White's products since 1987.
My Solution: Minelab Excalibur. It has great depth, adjustable disrimination, watertight, best all around performance and features. I've tried them all and I'm satified with the Excal. Do yourself a favor and try it before you by it. Good Luck!

FXDiz, I have and use both! I'm pretty well armed with both detectors and feel I have every water situation covered! If targets are few from a worked out beach or high sand levels, I use the PI Pro on the wet sand and water (will get you gold when others fail under these same conditions). Most other times I'm flying through the beach with the BHID which I think is a great machine! The detector is balanced well and won't wear you down after an hour of hunting. It's very sensitive to smaller gold and silver targets, gets nice depth and you can sweep alot faster than other machines. It has super fast recovery speed around trash and iron. Another feature most often overlooked is being able to hunt in all metal for super depth and still getting target id lights to help you decide to dig or not! I've had no issues with the battery door and think the construction is very solid. Good luck in whatever you choose and HH!

I bought a bhid around april, and i've been out about 13 times total, and have brought home 5 gold rings, 1 silver ring and necklace. and more junk rings than you can imagine. I have yet to find a flaw with bhid I've dug some deep ones with it too. But i only hunt freshwater lakes.

Thanks everyone for your input. I decided to go ahead and get the BHID. Got a NIB one from eBay for a fair price. If anyone out there is looking for a Surf PI Pro that's about two years old and very well taken care of, let me know. I'm not sure what they are going for, so it'll probably end up on eBay. Again, thanks for your input. It is very much appreciated!

No offense meant, but I only buy American made products. I know minelab has a fantastic rep and is a great machine from what I have read, but that's just me.
Thanks for your input, it is appreciated.
