Surf Master PI Pro

chip

New member
I just purchased this new detector and will be heading to the beach this weekend. Does anyone have any tips? When I return next week I will post my finds.

Sure...I also use the PI PRO and if you listen to the tone you can tell iron from other targets.. iron is a longer drawn out wow type tone, bobbiepins and nails can be a broken scratchy tone... listen for the deep whispers or a slight break in the threshold those are generally deep targets and more than likely a keeper target. Don't hunt dry sand with a PI it will turn you off really fast, use a good VLF machine for dry sand as there is much more trash in the dry than in the water.

:thumbup:I agree with Craig-PI 100%, The PI Pro is a great machine in the correct situations!!! Take the time to learn what the detector is telling you and you'll see the yellow stuff. Good luck and keep us posted.

Pee?

Chip,

I'm pretty new to water detecting with the Surf PI Pro myself, but what I've found is that learning to read the beach and learning good recovery techniques in the water are the top priority. The machine will find you some nice stuff if 1) you are in the right spot at the right time and 2) you can get the target.

Good luck with you new machine!
