Surf Dual Field vs. Surf PI Pro

Greetings,

My wife and I have been beach hunting (very successfully) using the PI Pro's for the last 2 years, we sold those and upgraded to the Dual Field's. My initial thought is that it is more difficult to pinpoint with the DF's possible because of the bigger coil. My wife is convinced that her PI Pro was a better machine. I'm telling her that we've only been out twice with new units, let's give it some time. If anyone has any experience with the Dual Field I'd like to hear your thoughts.

I had PI PRO. Now I have DF. There is no much difference. I miss weighted loop of PI PRO. Otherwise both PI PRO and DF are close if not identical in performance in my limited personal experience. Me thinks it is more of marketing thing. New model - new interest - higher price .

Try this:

Volume: Max
Sensitivity: 3:00
Pulse Delay: Preset (9:00 to help eliminate hair pins)
Threshold: 10:00

Pinpointing is dead center.

You'll need a bigger scoop!

I have a very big scoop. Sometimes I cannot find my cat in it! This new ugly little "Smart" car can park in it I guess.

There are several differences between the PI PRO and the Dual Field. They added a pulse delay knob as well as a larger coil, which in essence is two coils in one. The inner is a 4" coil to pick those smaller targets and the outer a 12" coil to pick up the larger, deeper targets. Don't forget to take this into consideration while you're out hunting.
