Surf DF PI Settings

Hello looking for some help does anyone here have some settings on the three controls on this machine that work other then the preset one. Looking for help for hunting the beach waiting on CLIVES BOOK seems like it is taking forever lol.
Thanks Butch

I'm using mine in fresh water and getting incredible depth with it. I have it set up on a scuba shaft. I have to turn up the threshold more than I would if I was above water but still just loud enough to hear the faint hum. The pulse delay I set at just past the on position and the gain at the preset mark. I find that sharp, loud responses are shallower items, double blips are bobby pins, and the faint, slight rises in the threshold are the deep valuable items. I really like this machine and find it more stable than the surf PI pro that I had. I find that the machine will false when I fan water or sand over the coil a little bit when I'm on the bottom, but this is not a complaint, just an observation. Also, the machine will float like a cork if I let go of it but with the finds I'm getting, I'm not complaining! I would definately buy this machine again. Again, these are the settings that I'm using in fresh water on my lake. If you're in salt water, they may have to be different.......

I've enjoyed using this machine for three outings now.

I turn it on and crank that knob around to the three o'clock position.

The middle knob I leave on the stop at the counter clock-wise position and the threshold I adjust to just an audible tone (which will vary as the coil travels along the bottom!).

So far so good!

PS Have a look at my next post comparing the DF to the Garrett's Infinium LS!!

I use the following settings with a faint threshold,,,

Gain - 3 pm

Pulse - 7 am

works for me in fresh water lakes.

Good Luck
