What kind of treasure hunting have you not done yet that you hope to or plan to someday? Example: Water detecting, Nugget hunting, scuba detecting, Civil War relic hunting, Bottle digging, panning for gold, Metal detecting in England, etc... add your own!

For me. I hope to do a detecting trip to England, pan for gold, scuba detecting and I plan to dig a privy in the spring!

would like to take my 6 year old grandson down the block to an open field, its not all that big, in fact its on a busy corner, but by the looks of it there used to be some kind of business there many year's ago, lots of tumble weed's now, but he want's me to make sure we will not get into any trouble first! So I first have to hunt up the owner and make sure all is right! He loves to use the metal detector and is really good at it, we have alot of fun we two!

Like Betty, any metal detecting would be a welcome change.
I'd like to hunt some ghost towns. I know of a couple in eastern Oregon that I'd like to hit. They were mining towns that faded away after the gold did. All that is left is a name and a cemetary. Maybe I could hook up with Randy or whoever else wants to roam the desolate hills of the Burnt River Valley.

I bet Randy would love to do that! I hope you get to go swingin soon! :)

My cousin has a home in Niles that was built in the 1840's or 50's. It was rumored to be a undergoround railroad site. I detected for a very short time and hit a 1930's nickel and a 1903 injun. This place is ripe for coin/relic shooting and bottle diggin. Mike and Greg - You ready?

dig a privyin the spring with a friend. that is if he calls me and ask if I would like to help. This would be the same friend I had over to help me dig my dump. You should have seen how many bottles he took home. I was so happy for him!!!
Did I say I'd love to dig a privy?
Greg

Do any MD'ing at this point :) It's been real cold lately and the ground is frozen solid. So much for diggin' dirt. Tomorrow we're supposed to get something like 4-8" of snow. The 2 or 3 times I've been to the beach it's been sanded in and there's NO targets, not even junk; everything's buried.

I'm looking forward to digging around my church again. I know there's got to be some deep old coins there. Then there's beach once the weather starts warming up... Can't wait! I think I'm going to do better this year as I've learned a lot on the ExpII and now the machine's working right. I've got the Platypus to play with (still haven't had a chance to really give it a good tryout) and I'm thinking of getting a WOT in the Spring.

Unfortunately, I've been working 6 days a week for the past month and a half and it doesn't look like it's going to ease up; probably some time in the fall  But with the longer days, I should be able to get in some time after work and possibly Saturday / Sunday afternoons. We'll see.

There's a park near where I work that used to be the campus of an 1800's college. I'd sure love to hunt there but it's a City park and off limits. I'm toying with popping some flyers at some of the real old homes in the same area to see if anyone would be interested in having their property MD'd. Just an idea.

I sure hope I can make the CMD hunt, but at this point it's not looking too good. Bummer...

Do you want me to tell everyone I know to stop drinking Pepsi? That way you can go swingin! I sure hope you can make the hunt! we are going to have some new guys this year! By the way, after researching the WOT and the X-12, I found most pointed to the X-12 as the better coil to buy. I plan to get one when I can.

You don't have to ask if I'm ready! :) Let's go! :)

I heard the same thing about the X-12... I meant to put that in my post as an either / or. Max over on the beach forum has been using it (he sold his WOT) and likes it. We'll see how the finances are when the time comes around :) I'd really like to get a large coil for the beach and something small for the trashy parks; lots of those around...

to hunt. I know someone from my former club who went there and he had a great time hunting for hammered silver coins from the medieval era. It wasn't that expensive either for the trip there. He was with a group so that kind of cut the cost.

to call Al at Prostock before you buy!

What is your avatar? It is hard to make out.

Bummer! a week ago you could have gotten in on the hunt I am going to in Virginia. But they are taking no more add ons now! :(
