This guy was about 8 feet long and just mosying along the bank. Probably casing the ducks and geese. I haven't seen the BIG ones yet, much less Old Leroy (never saw him all last year). But they're out there. I've seen the new mud slides on the bank. A few of them are almost four feet wide. Saw a big Slider (black water turtles), too. He was almost a foot across but couldn't get his pic before he slid into the water....thus the name.
By the way, those little tiny plants see are called Duck Weed. By summer they completely cover the swamp and pond water. They're kinda like a tiny single leaf clover. When they cover the pond folks, not from around here, think it's "scum", but it ain't.
