White's customer service is 2nd to none!!!

I needed a replacement arm cuff for my machine. I sent White's an email about buying another cuff. Not only did I receive a swift reply from Todd, incredibly, he sent me the replacement for free.

Kudos to the best manufacturer out there. They truly stand by their products

[size=medium]I like Whites products and have heard good things about their Customer Support, But.......... I ordered an extra O-Ring for my Surfmaster PI and told them that the battery holder was splitting apart where the spring holds pressure for the proper connection. I was a bit surprised it was 8.95 for the O-Ring, but 3.95 each for the battery holders seemed fair, I sure wasn't pleased with paying 10.00 for shipping for a package that weighs only ounces, not pounds! I ship packages quite often and could have shipped that same package for 4.60 by US Priority Mail with Delivery Confirmation. The Surfmaster was well past warranty but the battery case was an obvious factory flaw. Still like the company though! Oh well, I am glad to see they treated you with great service![/size]
 
you are talking a "small" amount of money for the service!..chances are that repair will last along time,so you really cannot discount THAT value!..whites is a FAIR company,and makes every effort to please the customer!..these days if a detector IS out of warranty then,ANY repair,along with parts for "short" money IS a good deal in my book!..you are STILL dollars AHEAD when viewing the long term "big" picture,regardless if you had to pay a few dollars more than you needed to for shipping!

[size=large]I'm sorry, maybe you misunderstood? I didn't send my Surfmaster in for these parts to be installed, I simply just ordered these very small parts! I didn't really need the O-Ring but like batteries it is probably good to have an extra on hand. I like Whites as expressed above but just to be fair and balanced I shared my experience where I felt that the shipping cost was quite excessive. The parts were simply placed in a used Pinpointer Box loosely without any packing material so there wasn't any overhead for packaging. The person who took the call was polite and friendly and I still believe Whites offers good products and at times goes beyond what one would expect for customer service. i know what your saying tim.this s&h is really getting out of hand.i was buying a coin book for 9 dollars and they wanted 10 dollars to ship it.so they can keep the book. pa tater
