Short answer: After you ground balance and set your sensitivity to a good stable setting, turn your threshold all the way up. That's it. It only increases the audio in the discrimination mode and helps on fainter signals. For me it adds about 1" more in depth. Your pinpoint will be useless, but just turn your threshold down real quick to use it, and then back up when finished.
