super trashy site

Hi I have a pretty good site that me and my buddy have pounded really hard! He found a $5 gold piece and we have found multiple mercs, buffalo nickels, v nickels, wheats, indian heads, and tokens among tons of barber dimes. It is a park that has been used as a town gathering spot for paries since the early 1900s. Problem is there are two parts we skip over because its so packed with new garbage such as foil, pull tabs, pieces of pop cans ect. We have tried to just dig everything but after digging hundreds of pulltabs in a two foot radius that proves extremely tome consuming. What would be sone suggestions besides spending a year digging thousands of holes to pick the keepers out of a ten foot wide by 60 foot section. I have heard ttf is great but since its not iron trash I dont see what good it would do?

At old sites that have a layer newer "pollution" near the surface making it hard to find the old ones, I always ...

Put a small coil on the machine ( 7" max. ) - then try hunting the area swinging very slowly and listen for the deeper - no bounce in the target ID signals.
In a area with a lot of pull tabs, can slaw, etc. the larger stock sized coils are usually sending you multiple signals at the same time and you'll tend to miss the deeper old targets that your looking for. You will find it much easier to zero in on the good targets with a 5" to 7" coil !

Good Luck !

The best way to search that part of the park is to be patient and dig all the crap , pick a small spot and start there and empty it all.

Thanks for the info. I figured trying the fbs 800 would be a good option. Digging everything is not an option seeing as how the town mayor thinks she owns it. She called 911 on me and my buddy and we had the police ask us to leave even though he knee no laws pertaining to detecting. He said personally he wished he could let us stay just to irratate her. He said being in uniform he could not have an opinion but appreciated us leaving even though he didn't know if we were in the right.
