The 10 inch elliptical, would this be the only size elliptical offered for the Traq...

It's the only one I've seen listed on the Tesoro site, so I believe so.

Here is what Tesoro has listed currently for the Delta Series detectors (Lobo is one in that group)
http://tesoro.com/product/coils/deltacoils.html

Also, if you do a search on the web NEL makes some coils for the Lobo as well.

..............NEL, Stands for.

There was initially a 7" elliptical concentric coil. There were very few made. Part # was #ASC-TEL7 CON.

I might be able to get you one for $200.

I looked it up on line and I couldn't find anything that NEL stands for, seems to be just the brand name. While I was there I found out they are cheap, I can get a 5" for my Tejon for $239, I didn't check on the shipping. They did say they get about 30% more depth than our stock coils, that's not bad if you can believe what you read. I would need to think long and hard before putting that kind of money in a coil.

Yea, that ones a 3.5"x 7" I saw one on ebay and did some investigation into it!
It was made for the earlier Lobo and the Diablo, I contacted Tesoro about the coil and the reply I got back was,
"That Coil Was Made For The Early Version Lobo/Diablo And Will Not Work On The Newer Models"

I found that they also have a different style of four pin coil connector, I ask Tesoro if the coil's connector could be rewired and work on the newer models?
No! was the answer.

So, the 3.5"x 7" will work on the Lobo, but not the Lobo Super Traq.
Nor will it work on any other of the Delta Group detectors.

Now, if they were a later version of the coil made I can't confirm it? I did read some post that read like there was, but Tesoro stopped production of if it because of a high failure rate in the field ????

I believe you meant to say,

The P/N I posted is for the Super Trac and is a 4 pin female connector.

I have an original Lobo and both the concentric and wide scan 7" coils with the 4 pin female connectors - they do not work on the Super Trac and cannot be converted to do so.

The Super Trac one, according to Rusty Henry was difficult to fabricate so they stopped making them. He told me that if it works OK it s fine and that it would probably be OK with the fixed Ground Balance in the discriminate mode on the Super Trac. He did say that like any other coil, if the windings come loose, it is probably not practical to repair.

I bought a Lobo SuperTrac in early 2000 and in addition to the standard elliptical 10 inch coil I got an 8 inch round concentric and the 3X7 elliptical concentric coil. The 7 inch elliptical concentric coil was a winner, too bad Tesoro stopped building them. Photo shows the axillary coils available for the LST when I got the one I had, link is to August, 2000, wayback Tesoro archives LST page.

I really liked the size of the small elliptical coil, that's why I was researching it, I wanted to get one for my Tejon, but to no avail.

Mark did you ever find that 7x3 eliptical concentric for a lobo or tejon ?
I bought one for the lobo supertrac and it gets used with brilliant results on my tejon

looks like a great coil, why do they stop making stuff that works? only thing I can think of is it only worked for a few.
