While detecting with a Garrett AT Pro and using a Super Sniper Search Coil, a target ID of 70 appeared on the display screen and after digging less than an inch into the soil, I recovered a Freshman Drill Team Corps Metal. "The Texas A&M University Corps of Cadets (often The Fightin' Texas Aggie Corps of Cadets, The Corps of Cadets, or simply the Corps) is a student military organization at Texas A&M University. Established with the University in 1876, it is the oldest student organization on campus."; (Wikipedia)
I showed the metal to a current member of the Texas A&M Corps and he said that the metal appeared to be very old. He also indicated it is rare because very few Corps Members have these types metals. I will be returning it to the Texas A&M Corps on Tuesday, April 25, 2017. Hopefully, the Corps personnel will be able to locate the rightful owner, but If that is not possible, then the Corps will display it in their museum located on the Texas A&M Campus in College Station, Texas
