Super inflated prices

Elton

New member
I have read of super inflated prices of the Equinox. In fact I have seen a couple posted in classifieds by personal sellers.
If no one bought at those prices. They would go away.
We have fine sponsors here that Do Not Inflate Prices.

Why not just wait till you can buy at regular prices......... It won't be that much longer of a wait.
That said..if one does list their key word "Their" detector at an inflated price..it's not cause to attack them.

It's a choice "YOU" must make. Pay more and get it if you just can not wait..Wait and pay the regular prices.

Myself I'm waiting..and yes I am on a SPONSOR dealers list.

Our sponsors do a fine job. They have proven it over the years. Their waiting too.
Each and everyone of our sponsors has given someone who is reading this post a great deal in the past.

They have bent over backwards to earn your business.. Now it's our turn to bend over backwards for them.

I agree. This forum does have some great sponsors that I've used in the past and have always been very pleased. Something this site should be very proud of.

Agreed... Still holding out on a 800.. What makes me mad:rant: Is that they're are Minelab dealers (non-sponsors) selling them at the inflated prices on ^%$# One dealer has sold more than TEN of the 800's at well over the SRP and still has several listed on current auctions. How can this dealer get so many??? I'll be glad when Minelab floods the market so I can at least get one at the SRP...

How do you know he really has them ?? How do you know their not knock offs ??
I would stick with our sponsors...

Inflated prices by dealers should not be tolerated by the Manufacture.
To me, they should be penalized or even lose their dealership. If its a private person
Selling, they can sell for whatever price they want. Another problem i have is
Dealers that want the detector paid for when its a pre order. Why put money down when they
Dont have the detectors in their possession

I have noticed one "Dealer" that has multiple Nox listed on the auction site. He is not listed as a Minelab Dealer on the Minelab sight. In fact Minelab does not have any Minelab Dealers listed in that City. I wonder how he is getting so many of the machines. Something stinks to high heavens in my not so humble opinion.

Pretty simple, price is a function of demand, as long as people keep paying there will be sellers testing the market price.....Certainly not unique to the Equinox. I support Bart at Big Boys Hobbies, he is fair and honest and responds to any question you have sometimes in minutes. He defines real customer service on every transaction, and he is not inflating prices.

"Beware the greed factor. You only get one bite at integrity." Hendri Pelser

As a small businessman myself, I can empathize with the temptation to 'strike while the iron is hot', and get as much as I can for a product.
But, where do you draw the line between fair market price, and excessive markup...or to tell it like it is...to price gouge?

It's a tough call, and often has no easy answer. If I'm in business to make money, isn't that the whole point?
It would be very easy to say that I'm taking care of my family while doing so, and make it more about my responsibilities and less about integrity.

But, the truth has an exceptionally long memory...
Even if the person 'gouged' is perfectly content and happy to pay the price...many others will have seen it happen, and they won't ever forget...that's now 'who you are'.
People for whom integrity and honor are important, tangible things...things that are far more important to them than short term gain.

In the grand scheme of things, those same people may have been perfectly happy to give you long-term business equal to many times the money made on just one or two excessive markups.
Now they will quietly move on to another vendor...

To paraphrase Moody: "Your true character is what you are when you think no one is looking."

I don't see anything wrong with someone making as little extra at all I paid 960 for mine and was very happy to get it and would have probably paid 100 more if that's what it took to get one before april, may.a little mark up is supply and demand 3,4 hundred more is just wrong but if someone buys it,good for them.

I have seen business owner sell thing for more than market value in many fields, i refuse to due business with any of them.
I understand that its nice to have extra cash in your pocket but not at the expense of customers.

Only an Idiot Groupie would pay these inflated prices,However, the country is loaded with Idiot Groupies of every sort.

Not true. Believe it or not, there are people here who have no problem making a few hundred extra dollars. Its easy to make a few hundred and buy the detector RIGHT NOW, so there is no point to sit on a waiting list for 6 months.

Why chance it? Whilst rewarding unscrupulous
sellers? Go only with a reputable dealer, plenty
listed in the sponsors
