First thing you need to have is a bigger digger! OK, on to the story. I was intending on making a video but my Son couldn't find his nice camera I bought a 32 Gig card for! So I don't have a video. I really don't like posting finds or anything about my hunts so this is rare. But I'm compelled to tell the story of my 1st two hunts with the ATpro. I don't want to here about how your machine is the deepest baddest machine out there. I will post this as I can remember and take it like it is. I have hunted since 1985 with a lot of different makes and models. The early machines were by audio only. I was able to hunt 4.5 hours the 1st day and 4 hours the second on a fresh water sand beach. I ran Pro mode custom, iron disc 32, GB was 85 and I ran it full throttle on power. It ran smooth with only a few falsings at the end of my sweeps. So here it is. ****** The ATpro IS the deepest and BADDEST machine I have ran. It also has the best target audio I have ran. I ran 50% with iron audio on and 50% off. Even with it off there was PLENTY of iron clues. The ATpro knows iron. This is good because it tells you so. You can sweep real slow of fast. It doesn't care! Deep 8+ copper cents and dimes hit high tones with corroded Zincs giving a mixed medium/high tone. Deepies like 10 inches would ring solid with the numeric ID lower say in the 60's but nice tone and two way signals. Then after a scoop or two shot up to the 70's and 80's. This coil is great picking up good targets next to bad. Just a 1 inch wiggle is all you need. Let's talk about quarters! Get a bigger shovel! 10+ inches with proper ID and a sweet soft high tone! I believe some were 12 inches plus deep. Really! So were the smaller coins. So deep I thought I was going to be digging up aluminum cans! Iron ID was great. About every 20 to 30 minutes I would dig a few iron tones to see what they were. All iron except for two targets that fooled me. I left a lot of iron in the ground for some other chump to dig. I feel very confident in kicking butt with this machine. I will say that it's almost a perfect machine. I can live with the cable nuts that are a bugger. But I certainly need to convert that phone adapter to accept my wireless set or extend the plug back under the cuff.
PS: The gold ring hit sweet at #42 and the chain at #44. So dig those 40 numbers! I dug every signal as usual.
The 5 gallon bucket and containers are filled with clad and junk from 8 months of hunting. (37 pounds) I didn't get out much and usually have a ton more. So next year I will do a lot better.

Thanks for the pics and report. OMG is right!

I have many brands/models myself and this little wonder is really a gas. I use about the same settings but am always noodling around with it. I sure love those quarters but the AT PRO likes

Great hunt. Where I live the ground is very rocky, so I will probably never see the depth that others will achive. In my area 5 to 6" will be deep.

Thanks for posting khouse very good outcome of that hunt !!

:yo:Totally awesome dude!:please:
Congrats on the gold!:beers:Thanks for sharing!:biggrin:Happy Hunting!:)

Impressive hearing about you and the At Pro..Thanks for sharing with us your experience.

I've never seen a better post for the "dig everything" crowd. It would take me a month to find, and dig, all that stuff, especially in our rocky soil. I'm just starting to use my new AT Pro. Like you, I'm gonna have to get a bigger shovel, or rent a backhoe.

I own a 3 year old X-70 that I'm very happy with but...You guys with your AT Pro's are starting to give me the, "buying itch". Gotta wait till after Christmas though.

khouse ,
WOW !!....You SCORED BIG TIME !!......Those are some impressive finds .....I LOVE seeing all those Pulltabs !!.....You KNOW you are in Gold range when your pulling those !!....WTG !!......CONGRATS !! ....Jim

Nice hunt.......We will have to get togather and I will use the E-trac and you can use the AT pro. We can compare signals and even video tape it for the Garrett crowd. If the AT works better I will sell the E-trac and get an at pro......lol

Most of the tabs came in at 55 to 57 or so. Deep nickels (8+ inches) came in in the high 40's then went to 50 to 53 when I scooped off the first 6 inches. Some nickels went as high as 54. No nickel was dug over a 55. Plus I knew when I had a nickel. The beep wasn't as harsh as a tab. But I dig tabs because as you said that's where the bigger gold hides out.

There are times when I can't hunt very long and I will cherry pick. But if I have the time I will dig it all.
