Super 12 vs Deepscan 1400 dd 8x14

To any Whites users out there, I am at odds trying to decide between the super 12 and the DD 8x14. I am looking for something to scan wide open areas in the deep south where the soil composition is mainly sand and clay with dirt, Any help or suggestions would would be greatly appreciated.
 
I don't use a WHites so can't help you but I bet you'd get a lot of good advice from those in the Whites forum here on Findmall. There are a few who have Whites here and their advice is good but be sure to also ask on the Whites forum so you get a greater audience for your question.
