super 12" coil

Hoping I could get some input on what you men and women think of the super 12" coil. I recently got permission to hunt two centennial farms near my home and both have huge fields. I have the 10"dd, but just wondering if I would benefit purchasing the 12". Thanks in advance. Good luck.

I think the Super 12 is a great coil with great coverage but it isn't my favorite to swing. It's heavy and not very well balanced. If your ground has much mineralization the 10DD might do just as well as the 12 as far as depth. If mild ground then the 12 should give better depth. They are both good coils. Check your ground for mineralization before making a decision if you can.

My preference for a large coil is the white 10x12 SEF. Good depth, good coverage and for me it's balanced better and easier to swing.

I agree with Wasp - the 12" coil is a good one. I always take mine with me on relic hunts and I've done well with it. To combat the weight and balance issues that Wasp pointed out, I use a "swingy thingy". That little gadget allows me to hunt for 8-10 hours without without arm or shoulder fatigue. Whatever you decide, best of luck and...

Yes I also owned one for dry sand beach hunting....... great coverage....... pinpoints very good (for a big coil) because it's a concentric coil.........was Nose heavy on the V& did not like a high gain/sensitivity settings .......... HH Rob

If you purchase the 12" coil, I would recommend you also get the coil stabilizer. The 12" tends to get floppy with use. good luck! Don

Thanks for the advice and opinions. I really appreciate it. Good luck.
