Super 12 " Coil

I use my super 12 almost all the time. What I do is...I have to use it in single freqency mode. I use 2.5. I have found that I can set my discimination at about 88 and rx gain at 12 and it gets plenty deep. You may have to vary those setting depending on your location. I also set my recovery at 60. I accept -10 all the way to +93.

For my conditions here, I can get more depth with a concentric coil than I do with the D coils. I have tested the D2 at the same setting as the super 12 with the exception of having the super 12 at 2.5 frequency only and in air test, I seem to get about 4 inches more with the super 12. Unless I am hunting parks and looking for gold, I always use the single 2.5 mode and use the super 12 as my coil of choice... Just my opinion.
I am not sure on how to really tell the mineralization of the ground. Jeff Foster had a procedure that you went through but I never did it. I know that by looking at the # in pinpoint mode as some do is not the right way. I just go by how my machine acts and the depth I am getting. I am kinda like a guitar player that plays by ear. There is no magic setting for all around use. You just have to play with it and see whats best for your soil. Take a day when its raining and set aside 2 or three hours and do some air test with different coils and setting and write down what you find. Air test don't mean much either but they are something to go by when you have nothing else.. Hopes this helps!
