Sunshine /mild wind at the beach ....perfect detecting conditions

Magyar

New member
Was invited by two friends to join them in a day trip up the line ( I95) for beach detecting.

Hunted wet and dry sand.

Found the usual clads and a couple of pieces of jewelry with no stampings.

My friend found a 1927 "merc"..very good condition.

I think the ring is silver...the small pendant , I have decided after cleaning it..is not silver

thanks for looking at my beach finds

The small flower appears to be from a childs bracelet... One way I am able to learn it an item is unmarked silver.. I take a soft white cloth, and rub the item, if the cloth turns black, it is silver... Silver also has a smell to it, so if you rub something you know is silver, you can smell it and learn what it smells like... I learned these tricks when we used to show Quarter Horses, our tack had a lot of silver that needed cleaned often! I used to work hard on that show tack! Then one day, I was introduced to DuraGilt, a waddling that has silver polish on it... I was in heaven after that!!

had to use a pale green pillowcase as I did not have any white cloth.

Here is a pic of the result.

Thanks again for your reply
