Sunray X8 VS Coiltek 10x5 Head to Head Test

I had a chance today to test a Sunray X8 and put it up against my Coiltek Treasureseaker 10x5. I swung both for 1.5 hours in the same field same area. I started off with the X8 and the ground was very mild Auto +3 was running 24-27. first thing I dug was a junk ring, then a Wheat and then got two silver Rosies. so then I changed over to the 10x5 and took off again and pulled 3 more silvers, 57 Quarter, 47 Merc and another Rosie, Japan play dime, and a couple more wheats. In this 3 hour test I believe the X8 has a slight depth edge and the Coiltek was better at separation, but the big shock was the X8 would bounce around more before it settled on a good ID, first pass with the Coiltek and it was locked in. Coiltek wins

Thanks for the comparison review. I'm in the market for a larger coil. I really like the X8 but could see no difference in comparison to the SEF 6X8...I traded off the X8 for an X5 and kept the slimmer SEF.

I had a SEF 8x6 and sold it and bought the Coiltek 10x5 and love it ... so far I have dug dimes down to 7" that hit good

I also have a Coiltek 12x8 and it's a beast of a coil. a little on the heavy side but works great

took the X8 for one last swing before sending it home. It really feels great on the end of the shaft and is a nice coil I think you could swing it all day with no problem, I dug a lot of pennies with it today, I'd say if your looking for a decent mid size coil and got a good deal buy it, I still prefer the Coiltek 10x5 it's almost as deep but separates better and locks onto ID faster but it's a little more expensive.
