I've been looking everywhere for an answer to this question So I'll just ask. Can the Sunray X-1 probe be used with the CTX or is one is the process of being made??
The inline probe and the coils for the Explorer/E-Trac machines are not compatible with the CTX. The CTX coil and machine have a two-way communication with each other, or something of that nature. It's a different technology. (I know because I asked my dealer the same question, and he probably simplified it for me, but basically that was his answer.) Randy can give you more specifics on this subject if needed.
This question has been asked and answered several times. Ralph said no probes and no coils. The FBS2 technology is not compatible and there are no plans at this time to produce aftermarket accessories for the CTX 3030. I hope this helps -Marc

Interesting. Several times? I did a search on the CTX forum for "X-1 probe" and my new topic was the only result. I also searched back several pages and found nothing on the X-1 compatibility.

Sun Ray will not be manufacturing any coils or probe for the new CTX 3030. It is not possible due to the chips, etc. which we will not have access to and the detector design does not lend itself to an in-line probe. We DO NOT recommend that anyone attempt to connect our in-line probe to this detector as (1) it will not work anyway and (2) you will definately VOID YOUR WARRANTY on the detector!
