Sunray S8

Hello all, I have a Sunray s8 that i am thinking of putting on one of my Excals. Has anyone done this and how well does it work?

I just installed an S-8 with a waterproof Bulgin connector on my Excal a few days ago. I have not had a chance to hunt with it yet, but did do some water testing on the connections this afternoon and so far, so good. I will say that the wiring setup on the S-8 makes it much more difficult to work with than the standard Minelab coils. Two of the four wires on the S-8 are fine, unshielded wires so you have to twist them and pull them apart to make your connections. I built up the wires with some solder prior to setting them in the screw connections, but if you are hard wiring to the board they should be fine to use as is.

I will hardwire mine, but I would be interested in how it works when you get to try yours.

On the Sovereigns this coil is awesome, so on the Excal it should also be. When the S-8 came out Minelab had the BBS coils and this S-8 separated better and even got more depth than the 10 inch BBS coil on actual targets 3 of us were checking with our Sovereigns.
I just got a 1 week old S-1 traded in along with a GT with the S-1 Probe and 180 meter for a E-Trac I had I will be selling as I have one already and don't need 2.
