SUNRAY S-12 FOR EXCALIBUR ?

I HAVE BEEN TOLD THAT COILS MADE FOR THE SOVEREIGN WILL WORK ON ON THE EXCALIBUR.

HAS ANYONE TRIED A SUNRAY S-12 INTRUDER ON AN EXCALIBUR ? RALPH AT SUNRAY SAYS THE S-12 IS EPOXY FILLED AND IS NOT BUOYANT SO

I THINK THIS HAS SOME MERIT. I WOULD BE INTERESTED IN HEARING FROM ANYONE WHO HAS TRIED THIS COIL OR ANY OTHER DOUBLE-D COIL ON THE EXCALIBUR.

I'M CURIOUS ABOUT STABILITY AND ADDITIONAL DEPTH.

i can say the S12 is the best coil iv ever used on my Sovereign GT..i liked it much better than the WOT i had.but iv not tried them on my Excal 1000 only because you would need to send it to Minelab to have it installed.iv been told the Excal is a water proof Sovereign Elite and iv seen guys using the WOT on Excal's.i can also tell you my Excal 1000 with stock 10"coil is NOT even close to my GT w/S12 coil in depth .iv been detecting from 1968 to date and had almost every detector made and nothing comes close to my GT and S12 coil on the beach.i now have a Fisher CZ21 and it is not as deep as the GT & S12..the only thing deeper is a PI and then you dig a lot of junk to get the good's.i think i am going to sell my CZ21 and buy another GT & S12 and put the GT in a water proof box like Max did....

and believe me... I have trouble pinpointing.

and I really like it much better than the stock coil. It pinpoints much better and it is lighter. It does go deeper and of course you cover more area with your sweep. For some reason it makes the Excal work better. The only draw back is a harder swing in the water but if you build up your muscles it won't be a problem. If I can do it, then you can!!

I have the WOT on my GT but I like the S-12 on the Excal so much better. Just put the S-12 on your Excal........you will like it......I promise!! You can have the work done by Minelab and have them install the waterproof connectors so you can change your coils. The stock coil does not even come close to the S-12
