On the standard MXT and MXT 300 you can use the pinpointing probe in the Discriminate mode and just move it around slightly. It works fine. If you want to check a hole or pile in an All Metal mode, you need to hold the trigger toggle back in the Pinpoint function with one hand and work the SunRay probe with the other hand.
With the SunRay Pro, former trigger functions have been moved to the touch-pad functions and now the locked-forward setting stays locked in All Metal for one-hand operation of the probe. For those who like using the SunRay pinpointer in both mode functions, the new MXT Pro is a definite plus for them.
