Sunray Pro Gold Headphones and MXT Pro

rlett

New member
Hi every one,

I tried out my new Sunray headphones and had issues. I am using the MXT Pro with a DX1 and the SEF 6x8. When I switch to the DX1 to pinpoint the headphones almost go silent you can barely hear them. It doesn't do it every time. Has anybody else had issues like this?

Thanks,
Bob

question is how do they do with your other coils?

I will try one of the other coils and see if it is the same.

Hey rlett If I understand what you're describing I believe that's normal, mine does the same thing. When you switch to the probe you're "switching" to a very small (1") coil from whatever your main coil is. The smaller footprint of the probe (1"coil) will drastically reduce whatever interference, EMI, etc. you're hearing with your main (larger) coil. . .hence much quieter.

[size=large]i'm surprized nancy hasn't jumped in on this. she uses both items with her mxt. would think for sure she would know.

Thanks for all the replies. I have the Whites headphones that came with my MXT Pro and they work good when I flip the switch to pinpoint the sound is the same. With the Sunrays the sound all but goes away, sometimes the sound seemed normal then it would drop to where I can't hear it. I have tried it with the limiter switch off and on doesn't seem to matter. I can't really see how I messing it up.......but I am not ruling out operator error.

Thanks everyone,

Bob

Using my Grey Ghosts the sound doesn't change when I switch back and forth between the probe and my MXT. The sound stays the same.

So sorry guys, I've been really sick with a head cold and I honestly can't even think straight. When I'm feeling better, I'll chime in. How about calling Ralph at SunRay? HH, Nancy

Hope you feel better Nancy! I did talk to Ralph and I am sending them in for repair. Bummer after spending that much, but it happens.

Thanks Everyone

Bob

Thanks Bob. It seemed as though something just wasn't quite right and I'm glad you talked to Ralph. Yes, it happens but rarely. Sorry it had to happen to you. HH, Nancy
