Hi MADMAX800.
The meter i had was dti2. and i dont think sunray make them any more.
There is a dealer here in perth for SUNRAY. They are REEDS PROSPECTING.There web site is www.reedsprospecting.com.au For beach work i use a piece of pvc . 6 inches round with end holes drilled in back around the sides tapered front and handle on top. For grass i used a screwdriver a piece of rod sharpened to a point with a golf ball drilled and glued on to fit neately in your hand.To get the coin out i use a pair of doctors forsips. You have to be carefull about not damaging the grass cause you will soon be stopped from doing it.

Hope this helps Regards Pinpointa down under.

The Sun Ray DTI meters will work on all the model Sovereigns. The difference in the II and the III is the 3 has a back light for night hunting. It also has a slightly different bracket so the meter sits back about a inch further so turning it on is easy to do with your thumb.
The bad thing is Sun Ray no longer makes these meters, so you will have to buy a used one which do show up on the classified as this is where I got my last 2 DTI 3 meters.

Hi MADMAX800
If havent done anything yet here is another solution to your meter.
You can buy a Digitor multi meter from Coiltek in Victoria. About $15 . If you type in jim vokes detecting pages.move down the page to Minelab Sovereign tips, move down to home made meter in green.Click on it and you will come up Minelab meter plans by DAN CLARKE. Very simple to do i have done 2 of these and they work as good as a MINELAB OR SUNRAY METER.

I tried to follow your directions, got me no where, can you copy the page ling then post it to me in a PM please

I remember one back some years ago that you use a Multi meter and cut the cable wire to splice in the meter. If this is the one then it will void the warranty and also you cant change coils unless you find both the male and female connectors and install.
If this is the one than it also makes the Sovereign hard to sell if you ever want to sell it.
Just something to think about.

Hi RICK.

The way i have done the conversion is with a seperate lead with male and female connectors so the coil wire is left standard. All up about a third of the price of a minelab meter.
