Sunny skys in Corpus Christi Texas today ...

Nice scenery to see those sandy beaches compaired to the white stuff up here.
I think I'll have to go down and help you dig

As you can see we haven't had any weather yet to work on the sand yet ... everything is flat and targets are spread out.

But ... there is so much beach down here you could hunt everyday and still not cover it all in a year.

Hoping a winter storm will come in and bring up some of the good stuff.

Willee

Willie,

Which beach(es) are in your photos?

We have been sanded in now for over a month, from Galveston to Freeport. The wind is blowing in gusts to 20 MPH from the North today and its cold on the beaches. I checked out the Galveston beaches this morning at low tide. They have a nice slope now but the sand is still pretty high and the troughs do not look deep. We need a hard winter storm to move some of this sand offshore.

We had rain ahead of the norther that came through last night and rain run off cuts we made in the sand at Stewart Beach parking down to the tide line. I walked down one and noticed there was at least 18" of sand above the cut made the rain run off. Took a couple of sand scoops out for a target in the rain cut and never hit shells. I would estimate 2 to 2-1/2 feet total sand accumulation on that beach, maybe a bit more. Looks it going to be a while yet for we will have a chance at the good stuff.

That area is Mustang Island going south from the new Packery Channel Jetties to Bob Hall Pier.

The sand is piled so high on Corpus Christi Beach (on Corpus Christi Bay) that some of the picnic benches are sanded up to the seat. When that all washes down it should concentrate some good stuff somewhere.
But that isn't gonna happen unless we get a good winter blow.
We do not get many cuts or much beach erosion unless a hurricane visits us.
Haven't had one of those that did anything here for a few years.

hello Willee, ... just saw your pics of bob hall, is the pier area open for detecting,, thanks ... happy new year ......
