Sunny coast oil spill, Oh my.

Well I thought this week-end was gonna be a most excellent weekend for hunting
the Sunshine Coast as the coast has been severly eroded for miles.
But, then we had another tragic disaster, only this one is a man made problem.
A ship lost it's load of oil and now we have an oil slick the entire length of the intended beaches
I wish to hunt.
Terry, I hear that you where chased off the beach by security:nono:, so it looks like I won't be
heading up there this weekend. You should find out were they are dumping the sand and go and
look at it at a later date.
I reckon it would of been magic up there now.
A change of plan, head up to Somerset and detect the boat ramp and chase some Redclaw:detecting::thumbup:
Has any body got any photos of the oil spill, would be good if we can have a look at the cut with the oil on the beach.
Anyway fellas, avagoodweekend and HH.

Sounds like a major disaster for you detectors on your beaches.
You'll likely want have much success for a good period of time.
Hope they can resolve it fast.

Hi aushunter mate all our tv channels have shots of the spill ,but that is not the real worry there are sixty containers out there full of ammonia nitrate guess who would like to get some of that stuff.terry in oz

That oil spill is going to be a drag.

yeah i saw that on the TV  at first all i saw was the BIG cut & thought wow i"d love to be up there, then i spotted the oil  man that sucks i"d tell the security to p off or go hunting at night.
cuts that big are probably a once in 10 year event so don't wast em.
good luck

Gudday fellas,
Yes, it dosent look good. Just imagine the goodies that is being scooped up and taken away.
There was a clip on Currimundi and its been inundated with oil also. Bit of a bummer all round.
Terry, gotta go on a hunt one time when im up that, I think you said you are on the north side.
Not this weekend though, a change of plans, so I'll head west and do a bit of Bass fishing ans chase a few redclaw.
Talking to a couple of lads I know and they are getting 5 to 6 hundred a night. Went to BCF and they sold out of Crayfish pots
because of the massive explosion of crays. I,ve also been told that there is a swimming enclosure up at the camp and should
be able to hit that at night as there is no bities up there, so I'll charge up Excal and have a nightly hunt.
Lazyaussie has the right idea hunting of a night time sounds good, they can't patrol the whole beach.
Anyway guys, gonna get some shuteye ready for an early rise and try and catch a few fish and crays then
do a bit of a hunt. Will post a follow up on Sunday arvo.
Cheers and HH
