Had another short hunt today with James, Mike, and Joe as always guys it was a good time. BTW thanks for the clocks Joe they look great! I went out for the 1st time with the new Whites 8x14 DD coil. I still need to get used to the way the coil works but I can say for sure that the added depth is there. On the way out of the site I went to a spot where I had dug some fired, this spot has been worked recently by several machines including me and a 6x10 DD coil, I went over it last week and did not get any signals. I was able to pull some more fired out of the spot, some inside dig holes. I walked away leaving more signals in the ground with a good feeling about the coil.
Other than the fired I managed a carved, and some camp lead. The bullet bottom right is a French triangular base; I was hoping to get one out of this site, its fired but still in decent shape. Does any one recognize the piece above the carved? The surprise find of the day is in the second pic. It is a milled bust type Spanish colonial 8 Reales. Dated 1772, with an Mexico mint mark. It has a hole through the top where it was worn.

John:
Your Whatis might be a cufflnk. Here are some relic pictures of a CW era cufflink:

John:
Mexican reals were usually kept by someone who had fought in the Mexican War. You might be in Officers' territory if Real and cufflink were close together.

Tanks for he info Dave. They were found about 300 yards apart. This is another spot that has me scratching my head some. Mike has done some good research on it and I am sure once we start to look at the data from our finds it will all come together.
