Two friends and I got together Sunday for a hunt at an old ferry that is now a campground, and picnic area bringing in many visitors. Although we didn't find anything old, we did find lots of newer coins.
Our combined totals are as follows:
124 quarters
70 dimes
9 nickels
136 pennies
Total coins found: 339
Total value: $40.41
Also found were 2 mashed quarters, 1 mashed dime, 2 mashed pennies, a silver earing, and a canadian dime.
The mashed coins were the result of someone placing them on a nearby railroad track and letting the train run over them.
There were many more signals we did not dig as later in the day we were cherry picking for quarters.
We'll go back sometime and follow up on the other signals.... a very large area we are hunting here.
Pictured are my finds for the day with the X 50 and the widescan 10.5 coil. I broke my previous record of 57 quarters this time ending up with 64.
Thanks for looking,
Felix
