We are as dry as a pop corn fart in the North East as well. False readings, gohst readings, etc. our dirt is like a powder. We're hoping for a good soaking up here as well. At least your getting out and enjoying your new detector. Still considering one myself. Happy hunting!

It's hot here to Cajun but I managed to get out for a few hours. Carry plenty of water and take rest periods.
