I spent the whole day Sunday at a favorite field of mine> I was lucky enough to find my second GW button at this site, yet its in pretty poor condition. I would however appreciate any help identifying the other relics. I will keep an eye on your opinions, I will be hitting this field again on Friday..... (note: the 2nd picture is what appears to be a badge of some sort? I found an identical one at this field in a different area but it was broken)

a heart shaped Martingale Rossette.

Ok Mel but what is a Martingale Rosette? I'd appreciate any other info. you can give me, I posted these relics on the Whatzit Forum and found out that the 7 tag is a livestock ear tag, I had my hunch that's what it was too.

Thanks Mel! After doing some research online I found one that looks exact to mine, only in undug condition, mine appears to be a bridal rosette, used by Cavalry during the Civil War. This site amazes me as to its long history, I have found Militaria from the 1700's -late 1800's Can't wait to spend the day there Friday!
