Well, I could not get my hunting bud to go with me today so I headed out alone.
I went back to a property that gave me a Seated Dime earlier in the summer.
I head right back to the same exact area where these larger grouping of trees are together.

Here is the area where all my digs came from today.

The property is on my 1854 Atlas so I know it pre-dates that.

The very first dig of the day was a faint I mean real faint high mid to right bouncer and was really only repeatable one solid way really well but, still very faint.
After digging to enough to sink my Lesche below the ground surface I was able to extract a Large Cent. It was under a root about 3 inches a round. :crylol:
First is my LC for the day.

My next two digs where two odd old copper pieces one I would guess to be a flag topper tip and the tag/emblem who-knows.

My next and last dig for the day was a 1907 Barber.
It was underneath a root wouldn't you know it but, was easy to extract from the ground compared to the LC which was at-least 10" +.
It was a bouncer as well but, a better tone then the LC for sure.
Here is the Barber and then a picture of the root it was under.

Here are the totals for today but, not many finds for the day. The LC took a good cleaning to make it clear enough to read the date of 1835.

Granted most do not hunt almost everyday so, I am trying to post every other day or so. :help:

Thanks for looking and I hope everyone has a great up-coming week.:

Tree roots can be a pain...... but a lot of people avoid hunting close to the trees where they are. Thinking out of the box netted you another great find.
