Sunday silver

werewolf

New member
Up at the crack of dawn today and hit the beach. Nothing like watching the sun come up on the eastern sea board.

Had a fairly good 2 hour hunt. $15.95 in change, most of it clean. Didn't find as many $2 coins as I normally do, but had a decent run on $1 coins and 50 cent pieces:thumbup:

3 lovely silver rings completed the Ace's booty for the morning. The one on the left has diamonds I believe, whilst the ring on the left is a wedding band. The middle ring is chunky solid silver.

Well worth getting up early methinks!

great finds werewolf if ya finding that many silver rings there must be gold there somewhere

I'd say you done quite well. Maybe you should hit it early again.:) If I could find that much in two hours I'd be out there every day. You guys are spoiled.

Seems that gold is scarce on my beaches Lazyaussie - I've only found one 9k ring in 2 months of hunting. The local populace are perhaps a frugal bunch!

I've also noticed that I have in fact got some competition:rolleyes: Have spotted a couple of older guys recently swingin' high & fast on the beaches. Best to arise at dawn's crack and get down there, or better still in the early evening as the beaches empty.

Bill if time allowed I'd be out there every day, morning and night. One could make a reasonable living from it given time & dedication.

you"ll find most gold is in the water i reckon to every gold ring lost on the beach there's ten lost in the water ( that's what i find anyway ) you may want to add a water detector to your arsenal. bet the "comp" don't find much gold swinging high & fast - just remember with gold - high & fast always comes last - low & slows the way to go  :heh: hope ya get some yellow stuff next time out.

Thanks guys.....I haven't even started on the wet sand/water as yet. I reckon I might give the Cibola a shot at that. Need to get myself a better, aluminium sand scoop.

ps I managed to get down to another beach this evening. A hour produced $6.75, but no rings sadly.

Nice silver rings and plenty of clad..Good finds...

Sounds like you don't have to worry about the competition too much from that description. It amazes me how many detectorists have a poor technique. I hunted on South Cronulla beach 4 weeks back. The life guard told me the beach had been worked over the previous evening by quite a number of detectorists. Just by being methodical in my hunt, I still pulled up $24 on the sand the morning after. It only took 3 hours to cover half an acre of sand.
Saw Lane Beachly on the beach at one point. I was a bit surprised, as she hangs around on the north side beaches usually. she was with members of the life saving club.
