Sunday silver and a spanking from Klopek!

Gulf Hunter

Active member
Went for a solo spin on Sunday afternoon, with the Huntress's crippled Excal 800 , into a 1P 0.1L and NW winds at 10-15. The tide was still blown way out, from the norther that had passed the day before though, so MUCH sand was exposed! Started a surf area at 1230P, where there was evidence of some previous searching by another hunter. Those areas are always so fun for me, as I will simply pick them apart. There is always so much left over for me. Holes just ring the dinner bell, as it were and of course I pick up the trash targets left by sloppy hunters, as well. Just clad at this spot though, as it rarely gives up anything else for some reason and left there at 330P. From the $1.49 West part of the nut came from this location.

Then, I drove down seawall looking for other locations and saw a couple of wetsanders and more than likely the unsavory violator, but did not recognize them. Then I saw Klopek and stopped to check him out and wave him down. He headed off into the water, probably thought I wanted to interview him or something, but finally got his attention and we began to visit. He pulls out a handful of loot out of his pouch and I'm wiping egg off my face, seems like it was scrambled? He had some mighty fine loot, with the BHID. Those 2 are going to be a force to be reckoned with, I can see right now, LOL! Anyway, we decided to go to another location and hunt together. He went one way and I went the other at 4P and met up at 445P and had similar lame results and I ended up with $.26. We moved again and were hunting at 520P and the water was almost dead silent, so we started hunting the sand, up to the high tide line. Signals were EXTREMELY scarce and I did not get ONE coin, but I finally got the ring! James Avery .925 claddagh and BOY was I glad to see that ring!

I was drowning out there! Klopek had been at the game much earlier than me, so he went home about 6P and I stayed with it till 630P. Moved again to another area and hunted there from 7P-710P and DID not even get a signal! Went today and got $.30 from 215P-430P, this REALLY sucks over here! Need a gold fix bad!

GH Would you not think sooner or later after months of hunting the same beaches we would get all the trash out of the water.Tell the Huntress great pics. Thanks for sharing. The Gold is just waiting for you to come and get it. HH

Like that ring looks real good in some light. We got some killer low tides coming and hopefully a hard bottom to go with. We should tear it up this weekend!

Yeah, seems that way PaPa! New exposures are always taking place out there though, so even though the depositors are no longer in the water, there is still MUCH to be found. Stay on it!

Your turn next time...Sending some Mojo...

How do you find pull tabs in the surf??? Am I missing something...??
I only find them in calm areas of the lakes I hunt??

Skully, ty on the mojo mate, I could use a swath! I just turn the scoop into the current and hopefully the little bugger drifts in there, savvy? Sometimes it's a real fight and if truth be known I have left some behind, as the current was just too cranky to fetch them up. I like to get the damn things outa the wadda though, savvy?
