The old resort once again does not fail to impress.

I am almost positive that the Buffalo is a 1914-D. The mintmark is obvious, but the date is very hard to see. I'm sure it's a 1914. Wish there was a way to pull the date up so I can be absolutely sure.

Very nice Dave, I use a USB microscope to pull them dates up, but any microscope will do

if you can get access to one.

Good Luck.

Les.

Congrats on the Silver and nic.. and your other finds.

Good Huntin Dave, About that buffalo, I got some stuff probably thirty years ago called Date Restorer in a small plastic bottle that I used on Buff,s and V nick,s that would bring the dates back most of the time enough to tell what it was.(still got a little),All you had to do was sqirt a small amount on the date area and let it set for a little while and rince it off and the date would appear. I cant remember if I bought it at a coin shop or detector store. You might still be able to buy it.

Very nice hunt - yes, I bought some of that Nic-a-date and used it on dateless buffaloes from circulation. It did work, I could read a date on every one, but I don't think they would have much collector value, the date is too fuzzy. How it would work on dug buffaloes I don't know. Congrats.

Nice finds mcdave:thumbup:
