Sunday morning finds

Ed (Upstate NY)

Met up with Park Pirate and BRATNY this morning. After about three hours of tough searching I had only the 1891 V-nickel and a crusty 1895 indian head in my pouch. Butch suggested we try a spot to the West end of the park. Did a little better there with the 1893 and 1899 indian heads and the 1905 Barber dime. Dug a nice trade token but put my digger into the edge of it while retrieving it from some tree roots. Overnight rain helped a little but we still could use a good soaker. Man, it was cold out there this morning !!!

Great finds ED after you guys left I went up to the mound where you found the two Indians, My first hit was a shield nickel, go figure. At least it wasn't a buffalo. Then I got a 1931 six pence and a 1905 Indian. I thought you and Charles cleaned that mound out years ago, it amazes me that we are still finding coins in these parks...

I tried to ID it but couldn't. There are a few tokens with "CLUB" followed by a three digit number but none were 119. These were from LaSalle & Chicago, IL. I hope you can ID yours. My guess is that it's from a medium to large city where they didn't need a street name or number or town on the token - people just knew where Club 119 was located. HH
