First. For some reason, all my favorite TV shows have been coming on an hour late all day.

Second. Forecast was for mid 50s and sunny so I figured I would get out for a bit. Decided to try this spot I have been waiting to try where there is a confidence course. It's always being used and about 15 minutes after I showed up the latest group showed up. I stayed and watched for a while. I wouldn't do it. Really high and I didn't have a ton of confidence in the safety monitors. This course is near a middle school so I scooted over there. Tons of coins. No jewelry. Only did a tiny little area so I'll have to get back soon. 126 coins for $13.02 in 3 hours. Had to notch out zincers, too much digging. Pictured are the two decent coins. I love finding war nickels. It's a 1944 and has nice luster for having been buried. I also discover a war nickel every once in a while when tumbling dirty Jefferson nickels. I should check these thing more carefully the first time.

Third. I wrote a brief note to Mary at Garrett a few days ago about the tiny wobble in my shaft and a crooked cuff pad. She sent replacements for both very quickly after I had explained the symptoms. Garrett is such a great company to deal with.

Nice, I'd like to find a war nickel. Lord knows I've dug a ton of coins..........

Just got in from hauling a van load of athletes at state competition with special Olympics. My group did great, but I am fried!! Trying to catch up on the posts. Will be hitting the sack, soon.

I thought that was an interesting comment about not finding a war nickel. It amazes me on how some things seem to allude us. You can find many thousands of things, but that one thing can allude us.
I have found 1 -1700 coin, 5 -1800's coins, 10 merc's, couple silver quarters, IH's, $1 coins, war nickels and 4 v-nickels this year, but no half's.
I think my best unusual find was the 1943 cent. I most always run in the jewelry mode. Hard to find an steel cent when you have it notched out.
