I was going to hook up with a friend of mine, Jim Campbell (Mich), and we were going to head off over yonder to a county fairgrounds that neither of us have ever been to before. As fate would have it, I ended up having to open Breakfast at the club I work at. Jim went ahead of me, and I followed when I got out of work.
Lots of grassy areas to search. We tried looking for the goodies, while dodging rain at the same time. Jim managed to score a Wheat and a couple of IH's, and I got a junk silver-plated earring. Finally the rain left, but the humidity returned.
I was doing everything I could to locate an old coin of some kind. Finally, I got signal, in amongst a couple trash targets, giving me a High Coin signal at an indicate 5". I recovered a shallower pulltab to open up the target I wanted. I cut a plug, flipped it, and started removing the loose dirt. I probed around with my Vibraprobe, and finally got a hit. I removed a little more loose dirt, and exposed this:

Man, it's always nice to see that silver gleaming against dirt. I was hoping to get a Barber out of here, but when I picked it up out of the dirt, here's what I saw:

It may be a Roosie, but it's silver, and I'll take it.
We didn't get anything else old there, so we headed off to another park. I've found a couple Wheat's there before. I got totally shut out here, as I only recovered a few clad coins, while Jim managed to get a Merc and a Wheat.
Note: the picture(s) might not show up due to bandwidth limitations. If the picture(s) are not there, check back at a later time.
