Sunday Goodie...

I left home 15 minutes early for work, with intentions of stopping at the scraped lot where I had found my SLQ a few days ago. It has rained since then, and I was hoping to eyeball some marbles, along with detecting a quick Wheat or Merc. Muddy muddy muddy!

I didn't find anything on that spot, so I decided to search around to see if I could find anything good. I started searching some of the other lots, just scouting around, trying to find a quick coin or marble. I got a strong mid-tone signal that just blasted through my headphones. I looked at the ground, and could see what appeared to be a piece of brass piping laying on the ground, cut end up. Wait a second, that looks like cut stones around the outside? What the?! I picked it up, and realized I had a ring. I popped the dirt out of the inside of the band, and noticed the interior was smooth. I started looking for a mark, and found it, 14K. SWEET! It's got 8 stones, what looks like garnets. One of them is broken, but still in the setting. It's BIG! It masses a grand total of 9.1 grams, and is about a size 8 1/2 or 9.

Sorry, I still don't have a working camera, but will hopefully have one within a month.
