I snuck out for a few hours yesterday afternoon to an old park and was only able to get a few old wheats, a '36 buffy and 2 Indians (1899 and 1900). Also found a clip on lapel pin with a scroll "E" on it.
Got out this morning to a park I've hunted the past few months and swung the coil until about 2:30 - knew there had to be some old coins left and I was right! First find of the day was an 1891 seated dime - I was like, wow! I worked in the same area (dug a few clads) and then hit a deeper tone that sounded a bit lower than an Indian - shocked to see my first half dime - a somewhat beat up 1861 (I'll take it!) A little while later I got another deeper repeatable wheat sound and was surprised by another small silver - an 1883 fish scale! 3 other local guys showed up at the park and we chatted for a while and I got back to it. I squeaked out a '42 Washington and a 1902 Indian and a few more wheats, plus the "Ben Hur" enameled pin. All in all a great weekend considering the mild temps!
